Antonio del Rio Chanona holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge’s Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology and is currently head of Imperial College London’s Optimisation and Machine Learning for Process Systems Engineering Group. He also serves as Co-Director of EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Next Generation Synthesis & Reaction Technology (rEaCt). Professor Antonio del Rio Chanona’s research focuses on developing and applying computer algorithms from the fields of optimisation, machine learning, and reinforcement learning to engineering systems. The applied branch of his research examines bioprocess control, optimisation, and scale-up.
