Chemical Engineering – Imperial College London
George Jackson, FRS, FRSC, holds a DPhil in Physical Chemistry from Exeter College, University of Oxford. He is a professor of Chemical Physics at Imperial College London. Jackson’s research focuses on developing mathematical models for complex fluids, with applications in industries such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, gas extraction, and carbon capture. He is a co-developer of the statistical associating fluid theory (SAFT), which predicts the thermodynamic properties of fluid mixtures. His contributions have broad industrial applications, including emerging fields like carbon capture and storage. Jackson has received numerous honors, including the Guggenheim Medal and the Bakhuis Roozeboom Medal, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Royal Society.
