Professor Pierre Pinson

Pierre Pinson holds a PhD in Energy and Process Engineering from Ecole des Mines de Paris (France), and an MSc in Applied Mathematics from INSA Toulouse (France). His research focuses on optimizing societal value from data, combining mathematics and statistics with applications in meteorology, power and energy, logistics, and business analytics. Key contributions include probabilistic energy forecasting, energy market trading, market design, and data markets. He has held visiting appointments at the University of Oxford, University of Washington, Ecole Normale Supérieure, European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts, and the Isaac Newton Institute.
