Paulina Quintanilla is an Assistant Professor in Process Systems Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering at University College London. She holds a PhD from Imperial College London, and MEng and MSc degrees in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María in Valparaíso, Chile.
Her research focuses on the modelling, optimisation, and advanced control of dynamic engineering systems, with particular emphasis on integrating machine learning into model predictive control frameworks. Applications of interest include mineral processing and energy systems. She serves on the Early Career Advisory Board of Control Engineering Practice, an International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) journal published by Elsevier.
