Dr Lauren Lee

Lecturer in Data-driven chemical process systems engineering
Lauren Lee holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, where she also served as an Honorary Research Fellow. Prior to this, she worked as a Research Engineer at Hanhwa Oceans in the Energy System Research division. Lauren has received several prestigious awards, including a Global Visiting Fellowship at Seoul National University, a British Federation of Women Graduates Award, and the Roger Sargent Scholarship.
Currently, Dr. Lee’s research group at UCL focuses on developing knowledge-based and data-driven design and optimization tools for accelerated molecular discovery. Her work involves AI-enabled molecular design approaches, supported by automated high-throughput experiments, to identify high-performing and synthesizable molecules in complex systems for the pharmaceutical and energy sectors.
