Energy Systems Analysis

Low- and middle-income countries face the dual challenge of expanding energy access while mitigating climate impacts, requiring comprehensive, integrated energy solutions

Through the Climate Compatible Growth (CCG) programme, the Centre supports the design of energy systems that balance growth and emissions reduction. Using integrated energy system modelling, the Centre analyses interactions across electricity, heat, transport, and industry sectors.

Achievements and benefits

  • Delivered tools to assist countries in designing low-carbon energy systems.
  • Enhanced resilience through diversification of energy sources.
  • Established partnerships in new regions, such as Nepal, to support sustainable energy development.
