Chemical Engineering – Imperial College London
Christos Markides received his PhD in Energy Technologies from the University of Cambridge. He is a Professor of Clean Energy Technologies in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, where he also leads the Clean Energy Processes (CEP) Laboratory and coordinates the Experimental Multiphase Flow (EMF) Laboratory. Previously, he co-founded Thermofluidics Ltd and Solar Flow Ltd, both spin-out companies based on his research. His work focuses on methods, processes, and systems for energy collection, recovery, conversion, and storage, with an emphasis on renewable and waste heat, solar energy, hybrid photovoltaic-thermal systems, and advanced thermal and electrical energy storage technologies. His research interests also include multiphase and interfacial flows, autoignition and combustion phenomena, and the development of advanced diagnostic techniques.
