Cleo Kontoravdi earned her PhD and MEng in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London. She has previously served as an R&D Scientist at Lonza Biologics. Her research focuses on using systems engineering tools to understand and optimise biotechnological processes used to manufacture medicines and vaccines. She works closely with pharmaceutical companies worldwide to develop modelling and control solutions that reduce manufacturing costs and increase batch-to-batch consistency. She also has a keen interest in technology transfer to manufacturers in low- and middle-income countries.
