Andrea holds BSc and MSc degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II and a PhD from UCL. His research focuses on assessing and improving the environmental and socio-economic performance of systems – ranging from products and technologies,  to companies and nations – using life cycle–based approaches. An internationally recognised expert in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), he is particularly engaged in translating the Planetary Boundaries framework into a practical basis for assessing absolute environmental sustainability. Andrea collaborates extensively with industry and contributes as an expert to several international initiatives, including the European Commission’s Environmental Footprint Technical Advisory Board.
